spring madewell

It's no surprise on this blog that I am in love with Madewell, but their spring line is killing it! I am seriously lusting over so many things...too bad I am on a budget right now. Sad face.

Here are some of my favorites:

Have you seen their new stuff? What are you're favorite pieces?

thoughts on weddings

source
I have been thinking a lot about weddings lately.

In the next year I will be attending 3 weddings and I will be the maid of honor in one. It is such a blessing that I know three different couples who love me enough to include me in their day of celebration. I am looking forward to the wedding and bridal showers, the bachelorette parties, the dressing up and eating delicious food. However, a lot of my time and a lot of my money is going to be put towards weddings over the next year. I understand this is how it is and I truly don't mind supporting my friends and family, but it has got me thinking a lot about weddings, and about what I might want for myself.

I don't want a traditional wedding. Yes, I want the white dress and I want my friends and family to celebrate my big day with me but that's it. I'm not knocking traditional weddings at all, I'm just saying that it's not something that interests me at this time in my life. Maybe it's because I have gotten older and the little kid dream wedding doesn't seem as important to me, or if it's because of my parents divorce, but I feel like I would want the focus to be less on "all the things you are supposed to do" for a wedding and more on family, friends, love, and a giant party. I do want that white dress though :)

So I am curious readers, have any of you eloped? Are you glad you did it? How about those who had a traditional wedding? Do you wish you would have done it differently?

frenchie friday

Oh man, I am glad this week is over! Not that it was bad or anything, but I have exciting things happening this weekend.

The BF is coming back from his trip to Brazil! I haven't seen him in almost three weeks so it will be nice to have him back. The doggies miss him dearly and will be excited when he returns :)

I also have a very exciting event to attend in the city on Saturday and Sunday and will write another post about the whole story leading up to it later. Sorry to tease, but I am excited!

Tonight will be fun too because I am having a girls night with some of my favorite lady friends. I'm not sure where we are heading or what we are doing but it will be fun!

Do you guys have any weekend plans?

You guys, I just adore Elizabeth Olsen. I have never been a huge fan of the Olsen twins but Elizabeth Olsen has stolen my heart and has been my girl crush for quite some time. I don't know what it is about her but she is just so pretty and looks so nice. I would like to be friends with this girl, that's for sure.

Are you a fan?

colorful coats

JCrew
Nordstrom.com
Nordstrom.com

I love colorful coats! I have been thinking about splurging on a really good quality coat and thought a bright color might be fun. I know people say to buy neutral colors when purchasing a staple item but I think colorful coat would be a lot more fun.

What do you think?

lulu love

Run: for your life crop
Run: back on track tank
Cool Racerback
Free to be bra

I think Lulu Lemon is seriously overpriced. $64 for a tank top? Yea right. Except every time I need new work out clothes I find myself going back to my neighborhood Lulu Lemon store to buy more clothes.

Why you might ask? Well, they have the best workout clothes I have ever used. I have not been able to find any other crops that fit me as well as the Lulu ones and that goes with the tops too. The other thing is, I work out quite a bit and all of my stuff from them has lasted well over two years and multiple washes and it's all still going strong. So if you think of the cost per wear, I'm actually getting a really good deal. I would recommend them to anyone who is interested in getting really good quality athletic wear.

Also, and this is important, their workout clothes are super cute! I know it shouldn't matter but it actually makes me want to work out more because I enjoy wearing their cute crops and tanks. The pictures above are some of my more recent purchases.

What do you guys think? Is it worth it to splurge on quality athletic wear?

OOTD - classic black and white

Blouse? Nordstroms. Necklace? F21. Pants? Banana Republic.

Sorry for the lack of outfit posts lately. I worked from home twice this week and I usually just wear workout clothes and the other two days weren't worth taking pictures. In my last post I mentioned that I am taking care of the pups alone which gives me a lot less time to get ready in the morning so I am just throwing on anything that's easy and fast. Anyway, I hope you all are having a nice weekend!

frenchie friday

The BF is in Brazil for the next few weeks so I am riding solo with the pups. So far its been really fun and I have taken them on a lot of walks. I have to admit though, it's a ton of work to take care of dogs on your own. Normally we switch off on who takes them on walks or who works from home to take care of them, but now they are totally my responsibility and it takes way more time! The good thing is they both have been really sweet and well behaved (potty training is even getting better without the rugs) so it makes taking care of them pretty easy. I love these guys so much :)

this is my nightmare

I live about 20 minutes from work if I take the bus or walk. I try to walk most days since it is such a short distance, but I am at the top of Nob Hill and my work is at the bottom of the financial district. For those of you not familiar with San Francisco, this is the hill I have to go up in down to get to work:

Yea, try that in heels. Boooo.

So sometimes I take the bus. It's usually not too bad, but every once in a while it's so crowded that we are literally packed in like sardines, which isn't the end of the world either. UNTIL!!! I stand next to someone who is about the same height as me... and our bottoms touch. Shudder....this is my nightmare.

good thing the pups are cute...

I love Reggie and Pig, I really do. However, I do not love that they are both not fully potty trained at 5 months and 2 years respectively. I have never owned a dog before but I am pretty sure this is not acceptable. I'm completely at a loss on how to fix it though.

Reggie was almost potty trained and he was doing really well when he was alone at my apartment. Pig is good if you take him out, but has been marking since I met my boyfriend a year ago. Together they are awful. When Pig is around Reggie pees all over the house even if I have just taken him out. Pig then smells Reggie's pee and then pees on top of it to mark his territory.

Today when I went home on my lunch break to check on them, the rug in my room (where I keep them during the day) was covered in dog pee and my room smelled horrible. I lost it...I got on my hands and knees (in a suit btw) and scrubbed the rug with cleaner. I took the dogs on a walk and let the rug dry then I went home and sprinkled baking soda on the whole rug, vacuumed it, and then rolled it up and put it in the corner of my room. I mopped all of my wood floors with dog cleaner and then sprinkled them with baking soda and vacuumed that up to get rid of the smell. Right before I left I sprayed half a bottle of Febreeze all over my whole room and then left the window open to air out.

Now that my room is clean and I'll be able to clean up easier since I got rid of the rugs, how do I stop this? Do you guys have suggestions on training dogs not to pee in the house? I take them out in the morning, come home on my lunch break most days to walk them, and then always go straight home after work to let them out. My boyfriend is going on vacation for the next three weeks so it will just be me and the dogs and I am determined to fix this over the next few weeks!

I would greatly appreciate any tips you guys have, because honestly I would beat these dogs if they weren't so darn cute :)
