Gorgeous Grey with a Dash of Bow

The title says it all... minus the part where I say I love this outfit and want it for myself- but I am thinking that's implied :)

Warm Fuzzy Wednesday - On a Thursday

Love my Fam :)
Last night I had a "warm fuzzy" moment. I stayed the night at my parents house, ate dinner with my mom (yummy salmon cakes!) and then watched Glee and Modern Family with both my parents.

Glee was exceptional but Modern Family was hilarious...even more so than usual. I have been looking for the specific clip that I thought was funny but they haven't posted one online yet. Basically, the older sister insulted her younger sister by saying she looks like a lesbian for wearing Teva's... and for some reason, this unexpected comment made me and my parents laugh so hard we cried- for about ten minutes straight!

It was so simple, but I have learned to really cherish moments like this with my family. Is there a time where you have had a "warm fuzzy" with friends or family from something silly, like a one-liner on a TV show?

Glee!

Oh my word, it's Glee season again! If you are insane and have not watched this show yet, I urge you, drop everything you are doing and watch the whole first season... right now. I promise you will fall in love :)

One of the many reasons I watch this show is to see what one of the characters, Emma Pillsbury, is going to wear. A mix of vintage, J Crew, Anthropologie, and a number of other darling brands all come together in a delightfully "clean" way, that I seriously can't help but covet.

And now, I have just discovered a blog, "What Would Emma Pillsbury Wear", that I would like to share with all, so everyone can now find clothing and put together outfits, to look more like Emma Pillsbury.

Amen!

Shopping on a Sunday

What is it about Sunday that makes you want to shop? Whenever this holy "day of rest" comes around I often get the urge to drop all the chores I need to do and go spend some major moo-lah. Most of the time I can resist this urge (thank God!) but for some reason, whether it was the unusually warm weekend or the fact that I just finished a huge and important week at work, I sure felt compelled to spend a lot of money yesterday  :)

Here are some of my finds:

I'm in Love...Sigh...

I love EVERYTHING about this room. I want it all :)

Warm Fuzzy Wednesday

You get up in the morning and think to yourself, “I would love to dress up and do something out of the ordinary today!” After taking a shower, you spend way too much time picking out THE perfect outfit, throwing all the clothes that didn’t make the cut on the floor, and then move on to hair where you do something new and fun that you have always wanted to try. You look at yourself in the mirror, and of course, float out of the room because you feel amazing!

Walking into work is a joy today because some of your co-workers are complimenting your fun new look which feels great…until of course, that guy comes over and makes a comment on how your hair looks silly, or how they do not like the clothes you are wearing.

I am telling this story because this has happened to me and I know it has happened to others.

You try your hardest to not let it bother you because you know that when people are being mean it's usually because something isn't great in their own life... BUT there’s that one guy, the one that gets under your skin, pushes your buttons, and who always says things that make you second guess yourself constantly. This morning I was feeling so lovely, and then a few stupid comments about how I looked seriously ruined my whole day.

As much as anyone tries to not let negative comments or people bother them, sometimes it is impossible. So what I would like to propose for my new segment “Warm Fuzzy Wednesdays” is that we never say a negative comment about the way someone dresses or looks ever again. That we only compliment people when they look nice, and build them up instead of bringing them down. At one time, we have all felt the effects of negative and hurtful people, but let’s try our hardest not to make anyone feel the way we hate to feel ourselves.

“You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.” – Matt 22:37-40

Orange Crush

I recently inherited an adorable upholstered chair from my mom that looks like something you would buy from Anthropology or Pottery Barn. It has bright orange and redish-pink flowers on a warm, cream background with this fantastic bright orange pillow that really pops on the chair.

I have never really used orange to decorate anything before but since I love my new chair so much I have decided to incorporate this fun color into any future bedroom that I find. Here are some great decorating ideas with orange:

I Found Jesus in My Car Today

It's been a rough week.

In fact, life has not been going exactly how I would like it to lately...even worse, I don't know what I want, or what to do to make it better. Times like these make it easy to fall into a funk or a hole so deep it's hard to get out. Times like these are also when Jesus decides to show up in unexpected places to let you know everything will be alright. Today, I found Jesus in my car.

While driving to work this morning, feeling down about life, one of my favorite songs started playing- The Middle, by Jimmy Eat World. After turning the radio up so loud I'm sure the other drivers could hear my music, I started singing the catchy tune and instantly felt Jesus singing along with me in my car.

"It just takes some time,
little girl, you're in the middle of the ride.
Everything, everything will be just fine,
Everything, everything will be alright. (alright)"

Is there a special moment where you found Jesus in an unexpected place?
