30 for 30: Pockets

Hello bloggy friends! I hope Monday treated everyone well and that Tuesday proves to be even better. Thanks for all the great feedback on better poses for my blog. I really do love the comments everyone leaves and even though I don't always have time to write back, I do read all of them!

So let's talk about pockets: basically, if a skirt or a dress has pockets, I will probably buy it. I don't know what it is, but I think it's because when I am in a social setting I sometimes feel weird if I don't have anything to do with my hands- the solution? Pockets.

Is there a detail or characteristic that you love and look for when you go shopping?

Oh here's a fun little tip! I follow the ModCloth blog and for a post they gave different style bloggers the same dress and had them all style it their own way. Besides being able to see a number of fun ways to wear the dress they chose, a few of the ladies put a skirt over the dress to create a new outfit. I would have never thought do do this before but it totally works as long as the dress is shorter than the skirt- see above.

30 for 30: On to the Next One

We are now officially on week 2 of the 30 for 30 Remix Challenge. For those of you participating, how has it been going so far? I think the first two weeks are going to be pretty easy and that the third week will be the hardest.

It's kind of like running a mile in high school; the first half isn't too bad, then you feel like your legs are going to fall off, and right when you feel like you are going to pass out... your legs go numb and you finish up like a champ! If you work out regularly you will not know what I am talking about.

 Skirt, Loft

Anywho, does anyone have advice on how to pose for blog pictures? I feel like such an AWKWARD TURTLE when I have friends and family take my picture each day. And after looking through the last few blog posts, I realized every picture I take looks the same- how boring. Tips on how to be less awkward are greatly appreciated!

Weekend outfits to be posted later tonight...hopefully :)

How Was Your Weekend?

Happy Monday to all you lovely ladies and bloggy friends! I hope you all had a marvelous weekend :) Any fun stories or weekend adventures you would like to share?

My weekend went a little like this:

napkin my mom used to serve warm apple cider :)

30 For 30: TGIF!

Happy Friday Bloggers, we made it through another week! Before I go out and enjoy my weekend I wanted to take a moment and thank everyone who has been apart of my blog in the last few weeks. I truly appreciate all of the kind words and comments you ladies have posted and I love all my new followers. It's been rewarding on my own to be able to do this challenge, and finally have a blog, but it really feels great to know I am sharing my experiences with other lovely ladies (and maybe some guys too).  I hope you all have a fabulous weekend full of rest, family, friends, and fun!

30 for 30 : Remix Picks

It's embarrassing how late I am on posting my picks! In a previous post I explained that I had already chosen my 30 pieces of clothing but did not had the time to take pictures and post them on my blog. I haven't had a whole lot of time this week, but maybe my subconscious was telling me to wait in case I needed to exchange something...BUT I didn't, promise :) Here are my original 30 choices; better late than never!

Hopefully only 4 pairs of shoes is not a mistake...
Taupe Boots, Target
Black Pumps, Nine West
Cheetah Flat, Target
Pink Flats, Target
Two pairs of jeans should cover it, I don't wear them that often.
Black Jeggings, Express
Regular Jeans, American Eagle
Two bottoms: Shorts and work capris.
Sparkly Shorts, Express
Black Stretch Capris, Gap
A suit was a must for me! I have to wear them for work events. Thank God there's only one.

30 for 30 : #3

Good Morning Bloggers!

I was going to head into work today but in addition to be being pretty sick (darn colds!) the bridge that I take into work was closed down because of a security threat. Thankfully everything is okay but traffic is still a nightmare!

So now I am working from home which is nice because I can update my blog at lunch! And wear pajamas all day...anyway, this is the outfit I was going to wear to work if I had gone in to the office. I wanted something comfy and warm so I chose this sweater with black stretchy pants. I am still wearing the top part (sans necklace) but I have traded my bottoms for my brothers old sweatpants :)

"Leather" Jacket, BP
Sweater, Forever21
Necklace, Anthropologie
Pants, Gap
Shoes, Target
Sometime I prefer working from home rather than going into the office. I wouldn't want to do it all the time but every once in a while it is nice to have a peaceful place to do work- and I always get so much more done!

What do you wear to work on days when you aren't feeling well?

30 for 30 : Delay on Day 3

Hello fellow bloggers and remixers!

I thought I would take a break from my clothes for a day to acknowledge others participating in the 30 For 30 Remix Challenge.  It has been a wonderful experience to get to peek into the lives of 300+ women of different shapes, sizes, color, age, etc. and see how everyone is participating in this challenge. How refreshing to see woman challenging themselves in a such a positive and fun way and cheering others on too!

Here are 5 blogs I have enjoyed looking at this past week:
  1. Inside Jewelscapes
  2. Dash Dot Dotty
  3. Dimestore Diamond
  4. 26 and Counting
  5. What Would a Nerd Wear
  6.
Outfit Day 3 will be coming tomorrow; stay tuned!

    Birds

I have an unhealthy obsession with birds.

Anything with bird on it, especially home decor, I love and want to buy. Someone asked me why I like birds so much and I don't really have a good answer, I just do. I think they are lovely :)

Is there something that you just absolutely adore?

30 for 30: No Longer in the Dark

    Suit, Express
    Dress, Urban Outfitters
    Brooch, H&M
    Shoes, NineWest

I have a fantastic co-worker, Bryte (great name huh!), and she very kindly agreed to take my picture today so I wouldn't have to go home and take it in the dark. Thanks Bryte! I think it looks so much better :) Today was a good day. I was sick and didn't feel 100%, but it was one of those days where everything worked out and I was surrounded by all colleagues I really enjoy- love it!

I hope everyone else had a wonderful day. Any fun stories?

30 For 30: Day Numero Uno

Top: Gap, Suit: Express, Shoes: NineWest
Watch: Michael Kors, Earrings: Gifted by mom from Macy's
    Hello blogging ladies!

I hope all of my fellow remixers had a fantastic day with their first outfits! How fun it has been peeking at all the clothes when I have a few minutes to spare at work :)

Today was exhausting! I woke up at 5:30am (an hour later than I was supposed to wake up thanks to my lovely iPhone), got ready in the shortest amount of time ever, and was at work from 7am to 7pm- literally! And on my feet the whole time too- boo!

But now I am home and laying in bed so all is well in the world. It was actually nice having my outfits already picked out because it saved me so much time getting ready this morning. The "30 for 30" challenge is already working it's magic!

The first two days of this challenge include a work event where I have to wear business casual attire. I thought about starting on Wednesday to not have to include a suit but I think it actually works well for me because I always have to wear business appropriate clothing at trade-shows and conferences.

Today, I wanted to be a little more comfortable so I paired my Gap striped t-shirt with my Express suit and NineWest heels. I know it is a little simple but I liked the way it turned out. And when I was fresh and cute this morning (unlike now, sick...) I had a really lovely shade of red lipstick to add a little bit of a punch!

Don't mind the orb in this picture...night time photos in SF were all I was able to do!
