My Bedroom


Hello Friends!

I know I need a lot of work but here is my room so far! I figured I could take each picture and then photoshop different things in to see how it would look decorated in different ways.

The first thing I would like to add is a chest of drawers. The green chair in the first picture is covered in clothes (I cleaned it for the picture) and I would like to put them away soon.

I am a little torn where I will buy a chest of drawers because I found one that I think would be great from Ikea, but I am trying to not buy all my furniture from Ikea since it doesn't last very long (my end tables are both from Ikea) and I am also trying to prevent things from looking too matchy-matchy (since they would match my end tables). Here is the chest of drawers I am thinking of:

On my night stands that match this dresser from Ikea, I changed the nobs to these to make it look a little less Ikea-ish and I really like how it turned out. Maybe I can do the same for the dresser?


What do you guys think? Any ideas?

    your room is beautiful! it has so much character already with the ledge and color. i think that ikea dresser is a really classic and simple style that should go with everything; i wouldn't worry too much about it matching your nightstand tables. have fun decorating! :)

    your bedroom has such great light! there's a lot of ways to dress up ikea furniture to make it have more personality...even mixing from different ikea collections helps!

    You room is so warm and inviting looking!

    I had that dresser for a few years - and it was ok quality-wise, but honestly there are better options out there for just a little bit more... you are in the Bay Area right? Try checking out the Alameda flea market for somehting antique or maybe just look at world market type stores.

    Anthro knobs are amazing. Maybe you can try a consignment shop for the dresser. The room looks so light and airy. Love it!

    i would buy a painted vintage dresser from craigslist. you can always find great deals. that would really add something different than the ikea stuff (although it all looks so great)! i love the picture rail...i might have to put one in my room. and the bird pictures...i can't even tell you how much i love those!

    You guys are wonderful- thanks for the compliments on the room. I can't take credit for all of it (since my landlord did paint it the yellow and white) but thank you so much!

    I am traveling for work for the next few weeks but once I return I am going to try some of your suggestions and look at the Alameda flea market, consignment shops, craigslist, etc. Let you know how it all goes!
